The August meeting of the Carmel Valley Community Planning Board has been canceled. Next meeting in September.

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board will meet on Thursday, July 22, 7:00 PM at the Carmel Valley Library. Note that the new meeting date is the Fourth Thursday of the month. Agenda items include: Neighborhood 10 (south of SR-56) access easements, two cell sites (at Hartfield and at Beth Am), the Grand Del Mar open space grading issue, and the Flower Hill Promenade redevelopment. The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 6:30 PM at the Carmel Valley Library (3919 Townsgate Drive). The agenda contains a single item: to consider being a signatory (through the Chair) to the San Diegans for Responsible Neighborhood Planning’s community letter in support of amending Prop M.

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board (CVCPB) will hold TWO special meetings on Wednesday, June 23 at the Carmel Valley Rec Center, 3777 Townsgate Drive, San Diego, 92130. These meetings both deal with the proposed Mixed Use Project by Kilroy Realty on the undeveloped site at the corner of Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino Real. The first meeting, at 4:00 PM, is a full board meeting to direct the Regional Issues Subcommittee to compose and deliver a comment letter on the draft Environmental Impact Report Scoping Comment Letter. The City of San Diego is holding a Scoping Meeting on the proposed project at the corner of Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino Real on 23.6 acres. The proposal is to create a mixed use project (commercial, hotel, residential, retail) on a site currently zoned for commercial only. The idea is to increase density on the site, but provide some benefit to the community. We, as a community, need to decide if the benefit outweighs the cost. Meeting on Wednesday, June 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center, 3777 Townsgate Drive, San Diego, CA 92130.

The Proposition M Exploratory Subcommittee is considering the idea that the future development of Pacific Highlands Ranch should be disconnected from the implementation of the I-5 to SR-56 freeway ramps. The current law requires that the ramps be built before additional development takes place. The next subcommittee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 4 May 2010, 6 pm at the Airoso Clubhouse, 6135 Galante Place, off the Village Loop Road near Canyon Crest Academy (click here for a map link). The agenda topic is to finalize a report of the subcommittee on how to approach a potential change to Proposition M.

The Carmel Valley Planning Board’s Regional Issues Subcommittee will meet on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at the AMN Healthcare Bldg., 12400 High Bluff Dr., 1st floor suite (at intersection of El Camino Real.) On the agenda are the Via de la Valle and El Camino Real Overall Corridor Improvement Plan, and setting a date for the next meeting due to scheduling and room constraints.

The Pacific Highlands Ranch (PHR) Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) will meet at Airoso (6132 Galante Place San Diego, CA 92130) in the media room (the smaller one to the left once you enter the main entrance). 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 18.
