When I hear “Carmel Mountain”, I think of the community of Carmel Mountain Ranch, which makes Carmel Mountain seem far away (it must be some mountain out near Poway, right?) It turns out that Carmel Mountain is right in our own backyard, just south of SR-56 and west of Carmel Country Road. This is a 150 acre nature preserve owned by the City of San Diego that is primarily wildlife habitat, but includes hiking trails and some nice views of Carmel Valley. (more…)
