clock Time to turn your clocks back an hour, which means an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night! You can read the Wikipedia article to find information about Daylight Time, including the origin, benefits and drawbacks, and more. Or, see the State of California Energy Commission page on it. The LA Times has an article that says the end of Daylight Time is good for your heart, For me, I’ll just take the extra hour of sleep and be done with it.

Fruit Basket Delivery Notification

Filed under: Community — ken @ 12:32 pm

Here’s an odd one: I received a notice at my front door last week about an attempted delivery of a fruit basket. I discarded the notice because it seemed strange. Now I hear this from Gaylon Sells, the local San Diego Police Community Relations Officer:

I have recently received several complaints of extremely aggressive Kirby vacuum salespersons. They gain access to your house by leaving a note at your house saying they have a free basket of fruit for you. They then talk you into agreeing to a vacuum demonstration. The one lady I talked to said three males came to her house. She allowed them inside and they did their demonstration. She told them she did not want to buy the vacuum. They refused to take no for an answer. They would not leave her house even after she repeatedly told them to leave . She ultimately had to call 911 before they would leave. I Googled their company name and phone number (Best Company Promotions, 858 565-6312) and read complaints from numerous people regarding the company. They have been all over the County in the last few months. Please call 858 484-3154 if these people come to your door so SDPD can check on the legitimacy of the company. Please don’t call if you only get the note on your door. One final note, never allow strangers into your home. It is extremely dangerous. Thanks, Gaylon
