Summer Movie in the Park

Filed under: Community, Entertainment, Park & Rec — ken @ 12:41 pm

Summer’s winding down, and your kids are probably back in school next week. Here’s one last fun event for the summer: enjoy the movie Bolt on Saturday night in the park. I’ve heard that these events (run by Time Warner Cable) are a lot of fun. Activities start at 5:00 PM with the movie starting at dusk. I believe that one of the local youth sports groups will be there selling popcorn and drinks, so you can pull up a blanket, grab your snacks and enjoy. This is at Ashley Falls Park (13030 Ashley Falls Drive), on Saturday, August 29, 5:00 PM. See the Time Warner Cable Moonlight Movies page for more.

Carmel Valley Community Council

Filed under: Community — ken @ 10:19 pm

Way back in the ’90s, there was a group called the Carmel Valley Community Council that ran community events like the 4th of July Parade and the Chili Cookoff. Members included Eric Studer, Tom Ritchie, Bill Johnson and someone (before my time) named John. Does anyone out there remember John’s last name, or have contact information for John or Eric? If you do, contact me at ken@cvsd.com, or leave the information in the comments. Thanks!
