One Paseo DEIR Community Meetings

There are two meetings this week to review the One Paseo Draft Environmental Report (DEIR): The Carmel Valley Recreation Council will meet on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center to discuss the Recreation Element of the DEIR. This will only deal with how the project will impact local parks and sports groups. The Planning Board's Regional Issues Subcommittee will meet on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Carmel Valley Library to discuss the full DEIR. NOTE: Commenting on the DEIR is a technical discussion looking for errors and omissions in the DEIR Document itself. While everyone is welcome to attend, please plan to comment ONLY if you've read all or part of the DEIR and have an issue with it's contents.

CV Rec Council Meeting, May 1, 2012

The Carmel Valley Recreation Council will meet on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center (3777 Townsgate Drive.) Update to 2012 CV Rec Center Summer Camp Program

There has been an update to the 2012 Summer Camp Program for the Carmel Valley Recreation Center (it's now version 2, sorry for any confusion.) I see some exciting new camps, such as Remote Control Cars, Choreography Dance, Mad Science, and a week all about the color PINK. Of course, your sports and gym camps are there, too! Register Online at the SD City Online Registration Portal or in-person at the CV Rec Center. Class registration begins Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Note that online registration requires you to create an online account, so you may want to start early if you don't already have an account. 2012 Spring Egg Hunts in the Local Parks

The two local City Recreation Centers will hold their Spring Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The Carmel Valley Egg Hunt will be at the Recreation Center, located at 3777 Townsgate Dr. (Egg Hunt Times: 0-2 years at 9:30am; 3-4 years at 9:45am; 5-6 years at 10:00am; 7-8 years at 10:15am; and 9 years & up at 10:30am). The Ocean Air Egg Hunt will be held at Torrey Hills Park, located at 4262 Calle Mejillones (Egg Hunt Times: 0-2 years at 9:30am; 3-5 years at 9:40am; 6-8 years at 9:50am; and 9 years & up at 10:00am). For both events, be sure to arrive on time and bring your own basket and camera!

2012 CV Rec Center Spring Program and Registration Info

The 2012 Spring Program for the Carmel Valley Recreation Center is now available, complete with online program registration details. That's right, no more early Saturday mornings waiting to register in-person. Register Online at the SD City Online Registration Portal. Registration instructions are in the brochure at the top of page 8, with class registration beginning Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Note that online registration requires you to create an online account, so if you don't already have an account, you may want to get an early start. If you have questions, or if you'd rather deal with a person, you can also register in-person at the CV Rec Center. CV Recreation Council Meeting Canceled, Jan 3, 2012

I received this Cancellation Notice from the CV Recreation Council: Due to lack of agenda items the Recreation Council Meeting scheduled for January 3, 2012 is cancelled. The next regular scheduled Recreation Council meeting will be February 7, 2012 at 7:00pm. Summer Field closure and allocation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday February 7, 2012 at 6:00pm. Program Registration Information

  • Some programs now manage their own registration online (such as Youth Sports Leagues, Camps, Special Events, Master Sports Programs, Kids City Programs & Senior Fitness). See the program schedule for details.
  • Regular Program Registration begins at 9:00 am, however, some individuals arrive early to get the best choice. Numbers are generally issued at 7:00 AM. See program for details.
  • Carmel Valley Tennis call the pro shop at 858-504-4181 for details. After-school lessions; adult clinics; and private, semi-private or group lessons are all available. For information, see www.CarmelValleyTennis.net.
  • City Park & Recreation Dance Department see the City Dance Page for details. Register at the first class.
  • Men's Basketball Leagues, Adult Softball Leagues and Adult Volleyball Leagues: Read the Rec Center Current Program Brochure for details.
