I’m going to be switching my phone service from a standard line to AT&T UVerse Voice. This is a VOIP service that is supposed to give me a ton of features and better long distance and international rates. Is anyone else out there using UVerse Voice? What do you think? I’ll give a full review once it’s installed.

The Carmel Valley Skate Park is currently open Monday through Thursday, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM; Friday, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM; and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The facility is closed on Sundays.
The Carmel Valley Recreation Center Online Gymnasium Schedule has been updated to include December. Remember that the Rec Center will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

December’s free family music program sponsored by The Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will be presented on Wed., Dec. 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s community room. It will feature the Congregation Beth Am choir in a program honoring the upcoming holiday of Hanukah. The choir will perform songs in Hebrew, English, and Ladino that relate to the traditions of Hanukah and celebrate freedom, the history of the Jewish people, the land of Israel, and the hope that one day soon we will see peace all over the world. Pam Slater-Price’s office at the County Board of Supervisors has distributed the following information about property tax assessment appeals:
Property owners who believe their homes are worth less today have until Dec. 1 to appeal their 2008-09 property tax assessment. Applications must be received by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office in the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 402, San Diego, 92101, no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 1 or be postmarked no later than midnight on that date. The CV Skate Park will open this Saturday and there will be a free open skate session for the public, but let me say up front that it will be crowded and everyone may not be able to skate if the park reaches capacity! But come for the celebration and watch the pro skaters do their thing. Again, Saturday, November 22 from Noon to 2:00 PM is the ceremony and pro demonstration. The free open skate session is from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. NOTE: safety equipment is required for all skaters! Parking is available at the Neurocrine building, 12790 El Camino Real.
The Winter 2008 program brochure is now available from the Rec Center or online. Program registration begins on Saturday, December 13 at 9:00 AM. See the program brochure for complete details. Brochure includes information on youth activities, adult activities, adult leagues, senior activities, and tennis.

The Carmel Valley Skate Park grand opening ceremony will be on Saturday, November 22 from Noon to 2:00 PM. The opening ceremony will include a skating demonstration by some local pros. After the opening, there will be a free skate session from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

There seems to be some additional traffic enforcement in the community. Red light cameras have been installed at the Del Mar Heights intersection with El Camino Real, the CHP has stepped up patrolling SR-56, and the police are targeting areas around the high schools due to neighbor complaints. Don’t say you weren’t warned!
