TPHS Electronics Recycling & Shredding, April 25, 2015

Torrey Pines High School will be holding a community electronics recycling and paper shredding event this Saturday & Sunday (April 25 & 26) to honor Earth Day. Hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Electronics recycling is free and accepts most items (See flier. No flourescent bulbs, no alkaline batteries, no large appliances, no microwaves, no smoke detectors.) Paper shredding is $5.00 per file box. Paper and Electronics will be collected through out the event hours. Paper will be stored in 64 gallon bins until the shred truck arrives to shred all the paper on-site at the end of each event. 100% of all paper is shred ON SITE at the end of each event. CV Planning Board Agenda, April 23, 2015

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board will hold it's regular monthly meeting on April 23, 2015 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Carmel Valley Library, 3919 Townsgate Drive. The Agenda includes information on water conservation in the drought, elections results for the board, a proposed stop sign at Grandvia & High Bluff, the City's climate action plan, a wireless facility at Carmel Country Plaza, the development of a school off Carmel Country Road near the open space trails to the south of SR-56, an update to the board's bylaws, and consideration of reducing the number of planning board seats. CVCPB Livability Subcommittee Meeting, April 21, 2015

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board's Livability Subcommitte will meet on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 5:30 pm at the Carmel Valley Rec Center. The committee is focused on transportation-related livability/safety issues, green infrastructure improvements and placemaking enhancements. This is not meant to be a parks group, but may include trails. See the AGENDA (Attached) for details. Solana Ranch Park Grand Opening, March 27, 2015

The new Solana Ranch Park will hold a grand opening ceremony on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Join Council President Lightner in this ribbon cutting ceremony at this great new park. Of course, after visiting the new park, you can run across the street to the new PHR Village center to enjoy a Starbucks coffee and shop at the Trader Joe's (which also opens on Friday, March 27!) It'll be a banner day for the Pacific Highlands Ranch community.

Solana Ranch Park is nestled between Gonzales Canyon and the Solana Ranch Elementary School in the community of Pacific Highlands Ranch. The design for Solana Ranch Park creates a destination for the residents of Pacific Highlands Ranch and embraces the walkable nature of the community. A turf amphitheater offers a flexible space for community events, a half basketball court and children’s play area provide opportunities for play, and interpretive panels tell a story of the park’s connection to nature, the surrounding community and the region’s history.

CCA Writing Club Fundraiser, Jan 14, 2015

From the Carmel Valey News: Canyon Crest Academy’s Creative Writing Club is holding a dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Carmel Valley Chipotle to support the 4th Annual CCA Writers’ Conference. All are welcome to attend the event. The fundraiser runs from 5-8 p.m. The Carmel Valley Chipotle is located at 3881 Valley Centre Drive, San Diego. CCA Theater presents "Museum"

Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) Envision Theatre is thrilled to present  the comedy play "Museum"  by Tina Howe, November 7, 8, 13, 14 & 15, 2014 at the CCA Proscenium Theatre. Guest Directed by Jason Maddy with Technical Direction by Jeremy Sewell and Costumes by Janet Pitcher. Museum is about the final day of a group show of three fictional contemporary American artists being exhibited in a major museum of modern art. In the course of the day some forty people, played by 27 talented young actors, come to view the work of these "groundbreaking" Modern Artists. This fast paced comical journey is filled with art lovers, socialites, skeptics, foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists and of course, museum guards, and follows their interaction and struggle between Art and Ego. Filled with colorful characters you could find throughout everyday life, this final day promises to be a miraculous event. The show will be at the Canyon Crest Academy Proscenium Theatre, 5951 Village Center Loop Road, San Diego, 92130, with 7:00 PM performances on November 7 & 8, and on November 13, 14 & 15. CV Library Free Concert, Nov. 12, 2014

November's free family music program sponsored by the Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library's community room. It will feature vocalist Allison Adams Tucker and pianist Danny Green performing songs of the Great American Songbook, a term used to denote the canon of the most important and most influential American popular songs of the 20th century - principally from Broadway theatre, musical theatre, and Hollywood musical film. It was written from the 1920s through the 1950s and includes hundreds of songs of enduring popularity. The program will last 45 minutes. The Library is located at 3919 Townsgate Drive in Carmel Valley. Carmel Valley Community Park 15th Anniversary

UPDATE: Really October 26! Join the Carmel Valley Recreation Council in a celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Carmel Valley Community Park!
